Nicolas (Nick) W. Kopinga
Passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 following 75 years of inspiring life. A loving husband, dedicated father, and transformative business leader, Nick carried with him an unbridled optimism that touched everyone in his orbit. His loyalty, gentleness, and strength cast a radiance that could brighten even the darkest of days.
Born in the Netherlands in 1940, Nick and his family reached the shores of the United States seven years later, propelled across the Atlantic by the promise of a better life. It was a promise that he would deliver on repeatedly during his time on this earth.
As a young man in Redlands, Calif., Nick planted and tended to Orange Groves that continue to yield fruit to this day. These humble agricultural roots taught him a work ethic that would follow him into the business world and guide his ascent to the position of President of All New Stamping Company in El Monte, Calif.
During his many years at the helm All New Stamping, Nick would steer the manufacturing company through every economic climate imaginable. His steady hand and clear-eyed vision built a fierce loyalty among his employees, who consistently remained with the company for 20, 30 and 40 year timespans.
While his leadership within the business world was unparalleled, his life's true calling was at the head of his family, which included his wife of 52 years and his son, who proudly bears his name. Nick was also a man of tremendous faith who was active in leadership positions at his church in Arcadia, Calif. His love of the Lord served as the foundation of his life and guided him in his extraordinary journey a company man and a family man.
Nick is survived by his wife, son and two grandchildren. He was revered by many. He was adored by all.
Funeral services will be held at The River Christian Reformed Church in Redlands, Calif. at 10 am on Thursday, March 10.
