Steven Murphy Obituary
Mike was born April 25, 1960, in Yakima, Wash., the son of Larry and Doris (Middlestead) Murphy. He was raised in Renton, Wash., and Concord, Calif., where he graduated from Ignacio Valley High School. He worked several different jobs before serving in the U.S. Army for three years. Mike then returned home and was a musician for many years.
He was united in marriage to Georgie Gardner on Aug. 26, 1990, in California. They made their home in California for many years, living in Tracy, Calif., for 20 years before moving to Red Oak. Mike worked for Local 483 as a fire sprinkler fitter.
Over the years, Mike enjoyed music, gardening, camping, fishing, golfing, Dr. Pepper and sweets, and celebrating Halloween. He never knew a stranger and always loved visiting with people. In his younger years, he was a softball coach and a cheer dad. Mike and Georgie are part of the Faith Community Church Family.
Survivors include his wife, Georgie Murphy of Red Oak; children, Scott Teter of Modesto, Calif.; Brittney Teter-Murphy of Tracy, Calif.; and Cody Murphy of Red Oak; grandchildren, Scarlett Teter, Jex Teter, and Jace Murphy; father, Larry Murphy of Spokane, Wash.; brother, Jeff Murphy and wife Gabi of Spokane, Wash.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol Pfiel of Stockton, Calif.; Susie Pimentel of Castro Valley, Calif.; Tom Gardner and wife Jaydene of Red Oak; Nancy Bolls and husband Bill of Red Oak; and Gus Gardner and wife Teresa of Red Oak; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life service was held Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery with military honors. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

This breaks my heart. He was my best friend in middle and high schools and was in my wedding with his brother Pat. We were like brothers.
