ROBERT F. TOLAR
HOPE MILLS — Bishop Robert F. "Bob" Tolar, 97, of Hope Mills, died at his home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
He was born in Bladen County on March 12, 1920, to the late Nash and Marian Willis Tolar. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a bishop with The Missionary Church International.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren, Garrison Tolar and Leah Grace Knight.
Tolar is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anne Melton Tolar of the home; sons, Robert "Bob" F. Tolar Jr. and wife Nita of Marietta, Ga., and William "Bill" R. Tolar of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Sharon Tolar Stone of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Ginny Tolar Knight and husband, Brian of the home; grandchildren, Sara, Emily, Brittney, Natalie, and Lily; and great-grandchildren, Carlie, Nash, Quinn, Lincoln, and Miles.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Cissy Caulder and Brian Knight officiating. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton.
