Bernice D. Bunn

HOOKERTON - Bernice Daniels Bunn, 89, of Hookerton, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007. Funeral service will be held tonight at 7 in the Chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Flowers officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m., Sunday at the Snow Hill Cemetery. Born in Wayne County on Oct. 11, 1917 to the late Samuel and Johnnie Lane Daniels, Mrs. Bunn was a member of Little Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church in Scuffleton. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Kermit Bunn, her son, Lenzia H. Bunn, and great-grandson, Andy Bunn. Survivors include eight daughters, Mary E. Brewer of Washington, N.C., Louvenia Brinkley of Wilmington, Daisy Lorraine Anderson of Snow Hill, Reba Moore of Grifton, Retha Moore of Kinston, Anne Moore of Grifton, Zadie Carol Manuel of Greenville, and Peggy Bunn Din of Hookerton; two sons, Kermit Melvin Bunn of Snow Hill and Sammy Bunn of Grifton; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; brother, Roger Daniels of Havelock; sisters, Christine Bradley of Vienna, Ohio, Ava O. Cox of Florida, and Louise Small of Kenansville. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Community Homecare and Hospice and Kinston Medical Specialists for all the care and support they gave to Mrs. Bunn.
