Curtis N. Mills

AYDEN - Mr. Curtis N. Mills, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 11, 2017.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Mr. Mills' sons and his pastor, Reverends Curtis Lee Mills, Glenn Alan Mills and Phillip Boykin. Entombment with Masonic Rites will follow in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Mills, son of the late Nabe and Lizzie Adams Mills, was a native of Pitt County. He began farming at an early age and farmed all of his life. He was a member of Black Jack Original Free Will Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed supporting his sons' ministries through the years. Mr. Mills was also a longtime member of the Grimesland Masonic Lodge, #475 A.F. & A.M.
In addition to his parents Mr. Mills was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel, Ernest, Robert, and Elbert Mills and sisters, Ludie Cannon, Hollie Phillips and Magdalene Salmon.
He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Barbara Haddock Mills; children, Rita Mills McLawhorn and husband Frank, Wanda Mills Pierce and husband Doug, Lee Mills and wife, Patsy, all of the Ayden community, Glenn Mills and wife Kim of Temple, GA, and Ray Everette and wife Gail of the Ayden community; grandchildren, Krystal Mills Wilkinson and husband Olin, Curtis McLawhorn and wife Kris, Georgina McLawhorn Greer and husband Alex, Grace Pierce, Stephen Pierce, Adam Pierce, Taylor Mills Boutin and husband Cody, Anna Mills and Ashley Smith and wife Bonnie; great grandchildren, Tyler, Chloe, Camdyn, Lilah, and Kaylee Smith, Kiff and Huxley Greer, and Brantley Boutin; and a brother, Ottis Mills and wife Irene.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at his home.
