Joe Craft Obituary
Joe served in the United States Army from Oct. 4, 1967, to Sept. 26, 1070.While in service he received a Good Conduct Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. after leaving the United States Army he worked at Burroughs Wellcome, retired from there, where he then worked at Ayden Oil and Gas Company and he was known by all as the "Gas Man" in Ayden.
Joe attended Friendship Freewill Baptist Church faithfully and enjoyed his fellowship with church members.
He is survived by two sons, Jody Craft of Williamston, Jody's daughter, Dianna and her husband Tommy, one great-grandchild, Ashton and Jody's son Chris; Billy Craft of Ayden, whose daughter is Summer, and two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Gunner, Billy's daughter Joey and Mackenzie and Billy's son Dakota.
Joe is also survived by Karen Frymier who has been his companion and friend for the last 15 years, his brother Donald Craft, wife Faye and his sister Virgie Carrow.
The family would like to thank Dr. Will Gay for the care and compassion extended to Joe, especially the past few months.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Farmers Funeral Home, 109 Second St., Ayden, The family will receive friends following the service.
