John Jackson Obituary

John and Joyce Jackson
BEULAVILLE - Joyce Kennedy Jackson, 80, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in ECU Heath Center, Greenville, NC
John Clayton Jackson 8/17/1943-9/22/2025 and Joyce Ann Kennedy Jackson 11/18/1944-9/25/2025 will continue their life together eternally in Heaven.
Both grew up and were raised in Duplin County but moved to Greenville, NC after being married on 7/10/1965. They spent their life there building their careers and raising their 2 children. They moved to the family farm over 10 years ago in Beulaville where they lived until the Lord called them home.
John was a Graduate of East Carolina University and a member of Alpha Phi Omega, where he has remained lifelong friends with his fraternity brothers. He continued his love, support and dedication to East Carolina by being a proud member of the ECU Pirate Club. His career in sales and marketing in the food industry also brought him many lifelong friends. He never met a stranger with his jovial personality.
Joyce was a Graduate of Hardbarger's Business College which lead her to her successful career at DuPont. She was known for her loyalty, kindness and wisdom, not only in her career but in all aspects of her life. She led a quiet and private life, always supporting her family's hobbies. You could always find her growing quietly in her faith with her daily readings. She retired in 2001 to help care for her first grandbaby that was born 2002, which brought her immense joy and purpose.
Both John and Joyce were strong in their faith and believers and followers of our Lord, Jesus Christ. They were active and dedicated members of both First Presbyterian Church of Greenville and Beulaville Presbyterian Church.
Their profound joy was in their children but especially their grandchildren. Both were always prayerful and supportive with each hobby and activity they were involved in.
Both John and Joyce are survived by their children, John Clayton Jackson Jr, wife Kim Jackson. Susan Elizabeth Jackson Harper, husband Lynwood Harper. Grandchildren, Ashlee Blythe Jackson, John Corbin Jackson, and Bodie Tatum Harper.
John is survived by his sister Imogene Jackson Sybrant and husband Eugene Sybrant. Proceeded in death by his parents, Maurice and Vera Jackson.
Joyce is survived by her brother Carroll Kennedy and wife Fran, sisters Janet Simmons, Myra Jo Smith and husband Gerald, Jill Sanderson and husband Doug. Proceeded in death by her parents Brantley and Hazel Kennedy.
They are also survived by many nieces and nephews that held a special place in both their hearts.
A graveside service will be held at the Jackson family cemetery on Saturday October 11th at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Beulaville Presbyterian or First Presbyterian Church of Greenville in their honor.
Community Funeral Home of Beulaville is honored to serve the Jackson family.
