John was my neighbor in Winston-Salem during my high school years. He displayed such excellent character, and was like a big brother to many of his younger neighbors. My sincere condolence.

I'm definitely sorry for our loss. John was a great man who I had the pleasure of working with at The Arc of NC. He will truly be missed. Condolences to his family. I'm lost for words at the moment, I had no idea John was battling cancer. He was and always will be remembered as a courageous, thoughtful, respectful and knowledgeable man. Heaven, has received another angel!
