Lawrence Oakley Obituary

Lawrence Calvin Oakley Grimesland - Lawrence Calvin Oakley, 68, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Oakley Family Cemetery. Lawrence was a Pitt county native, and was employed with River City Construction for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lossie Bell Oakley; and a sister Gloria Oakley. He is survived by his wife, Barbee Oakley; daughters, April Verne and husband Colin, Latasha Foreman and husband Jason; brother, Johnny Oakley; sisters, Marsha Carter and husband Denny, Sherry Alligood and husband Eddie; six grandchildren and a numerous of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilkerson Funeral Home & Crematory. Online condolences at www.wilkersonfuneralhome.com
