Mark Rosenberg Obituary

Mark Alan Rosenberg
WILMINGTON - Mark Rosenberg, 61, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away leaving a legacy of love, strength, and generosity. He was survived by his wife of 32 years, LaDonna, and their children Jana and Hoyt (Danielle). He is also survived by his father Donald, his mother Norma, his brother Jeff (Cathy) and sisters, Lori and Karen (Paul) and by his nieces Casey (Matt) and Jolie and nephew Jason. On his wife's side, he was survived by his father-in-law, Ruben Sloan, his brother and sister in-laws Keith Sloan, Ron Sloan and Jo-Ellen Sloan as well as his nephews Trey Sloan (Kristi) and Donald Sloan (Lacie) and his niece Tawney Lowry (David) and their children.
Mark was an astute and respected businessman and had a larger-than-life personality and a world of friends. He was a loving and caring man who lived each day to its fullest. Whether he was working, spending time with family and friends, or enjoying being out on the water, his love of life was boundless.
Mark loved playing guitar, going to concerts, being out on his boat, cooking and creating recipes for everyone to enjoy and making those around him laugh, being silly in the best possible way. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory will live on through the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Rosie was a dear friend and certainly one of a kind so many memories starting at East Carolina playing rugby and then later on on the East Coast in the Wilmington area. Words cannot express our sorrow. Praying for peace and comfort for all family and friends is only the way that the father can provide.

Met Mark in a most unusual way. I brought my boat into the marina for the winter. After a full day on the water, hot, smelly and sweaty, I´m sitting in the cockpit drinking a beer. The second floor window on the houseboat directly behind me opens and this big guy leans out a yells HEY! What are ya doin? I said having a beer and cooling down. He said, not knowing a single thing about me, come on over, got some friends coming by, you should join us. Told him let me call my wife, let her know I got in safe, take a shower and I´ll be over. That night began a friendship I have cherished since the day we met. When I got back to NY, I told my wife about these amazing people
I spent time with and insisted we make time to go back to Wilmington together so she could experience the same love and friendship I found with Mark and LaDonna. Every moment was full of fun and laughs, I learned more about the love of life from Mark than any other 10 people I know. How much we will miss him is beyond description. Love you Man!!
