Martha Jackson Obituary
Services will be held on August 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Reedy Branch OFWB Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Martha was born in Camden, NC on October 18, 1939, to Percy and Nettie Mae Cartwright. She graduated from Camden County High School in 1957 and attended East Carolina University. She retired from East Carolina University School of Nursing, where she worked in Student Services.
While attending ECU she met and married her husband of 65 years, Douglas Allan Jackson. Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Reedy Branch OFWB Church and enjoyed the Community Bible Study group where she was looking forward to returning this year.
Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Doug; daughter, Terry Jackson Gatlin; and daughter-in-law, Pam Jackson.
She is survived by: two sons, Rick Jackson, of Winterville, and Douglas "Dalvin" Jackson (Elke) of Ayden; grandchildren, Bridget Calahan (Mike), Kristen Nichols (Todd), Phillip Jackson, Ashley Jackson, Audrey Jackson and Trent Jackson; great-grandchildren, Skylar Nichols, Addy Mae Nichols and Savannah Calahan; brother, Douglas Cartwright (Kathryn) of Camden, NC; son-in-law, Asa Gatlin; sisters-in-law, Corrine Culbreth, Rickie Worthington and Betty Jean Jackson.
