Randy Bibbs Obituary

Randy L. Bibbs Mr. Randy Lee Bibbs, 52, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, after an extended illness. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. Randy, son of the late LeRoy and Earlene McRoy Bibbs, was a lifelong resident of Pitt County and a 1974 graduate of D. H. Conley High School. For more than 21 years, he worked at the Noland Company (formerly Buck Supply Company) and was an inside sales representative. He will be remembered as a generous and gentle person. He always made himself available to his children and others, and his grandchild, Madison, was the apple of his eye. He was a sports enthusiast who loved the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Braves. A favorite pastime was working on and restoring his 1968 Ford Mustang. He was especially proud of his car. A favorite place to visit was his beach home in Indian Beach that he and his wife, Vanessa, had purchased almost four years ago. Together, they spent many weekends there working on various projects and playing. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Randy will be missed by many friends and loved ones. In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Doris Mobley Barnes, in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Vanessa Barnes Bibbs; sons, Christopher B. Bibbs and Matthew C. Bibbs, both of Greenville; daughter, Kristen N. Bibbs, and her fiancŽ, Thomas Mace, of Winterville; granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Mace of Winterville; sisters, Brenda B. Mills, and her late husband, Raymond Mills, of Greenville, Carolyn B. Gore and husband, Joe, of Broad Creek and Patsy B. Jefferson and husband, Jerry, of Greenville; and two nieces and four nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilkerson Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral and medical expenses. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Monday from 6-8 p.m. Online condolences at www.wilkersonfuneralhome.com or www.caringbridge.org/visit/randybibbs.
