Theodore Charles "Charlie" Entzminger

GREENVILLE - Mr. Theodore Charles "Charlie" Entzminger, 74, passed away peacefully from complications of Parkinson's disease, and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

The funeral service will be conducted Monday, 11 AM, at First Free Will Baptist Church of Greenville by The Reverend Dr. Keith Gardner and Rev. Wayne Gunnoe.

A native of Charlotte, Charlie was a graduate of Harding High School. He then attended East Carolina University where he was a member of the Zeta Psi Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha graduating in 1966. He began teaching music and band in Jacksonville and later in Rocky Mount. Beginning in 1976 through 1990, he was a co-owner of Cha-Rich Music in Washington and Greenville. He returned to teaching in 1990 in Edgecombe County. Charlie ended his career as a Driver's Educational Specialist with the School Bus and Traffic Safety section of the DMV in Craven County, retiring in 2005. He served as choir director of many churches throughout the years, with a longstanding position at First Free Will Baptist Church of Greenville, where he was a devoted member. His passions were his family; music, including playing with the Tar River Community Band and singing in several barbershop quartets; and volunteering with the American Red Cross and Vidant Hospital where he logged hundreds of hours at the Heart Center.

He was predeceased by his parents, James Frederick and Fannie Belle Rose Entzminger; one infant brother, David Entzminger; father-in-law, George S. Hines, Sr.; and brothers-in-law, Donald Hines and Harold Huntley.

He is survived by the love of his life, his caretaker, and his wife of 35 years, Fanette Hines Entzminger; his children: Brian Entzminger of Chapel Hill; Karen Entzminger Davis and husband, John, of Apex; Daniel Entzminger and wife, Holly; Phillip Entzminger and wife, Katie; and Gregory Entzminger and girlfriend, Melissa Meetze, all of Greenville; his grandchildren: Ashlynn and Kailynn Davis; and Olivia, Eliza, and Christian Entzminger. He is also survived by his sisters: Rosemary Huntley of Monroe, and Marilyn Sinclair and husband, Fred, of Mailen, NC; brother, James Entzminger and wife, Ardis, of Conway, SC; siblings-in-law: Rev. Wayne and Dr. Deborah Hines King of Little Rock, AR; Tate and Johnna Hines Smith, David and Dana Hines Hollingsworth, and Linda Hines all of Greenville; Ronald F. and Debbie Hines of Ayden; Stancill and Jackie Hines of Cary; his mother-in-law: Joan T. Hines; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Charlie's son, Gregory; Mrs. Judy Gardner; Drs. Mark Warren and Richard Murro; and Vidant Hospice for the compassionate and loving care given during his final years of declining health.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church of Greenville's Family Life Center building fund, 2426 S. Charles Blvd., Greenville, NC 27858.
