Vince Mancuso Obituary

WINTERVILLE - Vince Mancuso, 61 unexpectedly passed and went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Reimage Church (formerly Faith and Victory Church), 3950 Victory Lane, Winterville. The burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville.
Born Feb. 26, 1950, in Belle Vernon, Pa., he was the son of the late Vincent and Eleanor Fundy Mancuso. His love for mechanics grew as he worked in a gas station growing up and raced cars. He graduated from Belle Vernon Area High School, Class of 1968, and upon graduation, entered the Armed Services becoming a Paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division. He became a Journeyman Machinist while working at Corning Glass in Charleroi, Pa. and went on to receive his Engineering Degree from the California University of Pennsylvania. Vince moved his family to Winterville to work as a plant engineer in 1990 at Ajax Magnathermic and later, TRW. He received his certification in Architecture from Pitt Community College and then went on to fulfill his childhood dream to open his own workshop, "The Specialty Workshop." He recently began service with the Winterville Planning Board. Blessed with a gift of creating and repairing anything and everything, he wanted to follow Jesus as a carpenter.
He was a member of Reimage (Faith and Victory Church) where he served as a Small Group Leader and with the Prison Ministry.
A man of strong faith, Vince was known for his deep, strong love of the Lord. He often told anyone going through a hard time not to focus on the situation at hand, but rather trust that the impossible is possible not through man ... "But God." He will be deeply missed yet we know he is in true peace and joy with our Heavenly Father.
He is survived by his children, Julie Mancuso of Arlington, Va., Michael and wife, Tonya Mancuso, and grandchildren Analeigh and Addelyn of Winterville; his fiancee, Janis Crane of Greenville; sisters Sue Ann Edwards and husband, Ron, and Bonnie Halinka and husband, Don, all of Belle Vernon, Pa.; as well as a niece Kristen Brown of Irwin, Pa.; and nephews Donald Halinka of Belle Vernon, Pa. and Ronald Edwards Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa.
The viewing will be held tonight from 6-8 at Wilkerson Funeral Home, 2100 E. 5th St., Greenville.
Vince's family requests that any memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Prison Ministry of Reimage Church, 3950 Victory Lane, Winterville, NC 28590 (earmarked Prison Ministry), or His Radio at www.hisradio.com. The family welcomes and encourages you to share stories, photos, and special memories on his Facebook page.

My sincere condolences to you, mike and julie. I was very sad to hear that your dad had passed away so unexpectedly. I have very fond memories of him around the neighborhood as we were growing up. Your father always had a smile to offer up and always made time to stop and ask how people were doing. Please know my prayers are being sent up for comfort and peace for your family.

I remember Vince when we were both members of Parents Without Partners. Vince also made me several things for my boat. He was very proud of his children. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
