Carol Fleck Obituary

LONGMONT, Colo. - Carol Parker Fleck, loving mother and wife, died Sept. 3, 2010, at her home. She was 74.
She was born April 1, 1936, in Jefferson City, Mo., to C.W. and Anna Mae (Smith) Parker. She graduated from Avon High School in Avon, Ill. Carol married Chip Fleck on Feb. 15, 1958, in Galesburg, Ill.
She moved to Colorado in 1970. Carol worked for Western Electric and in grocery stores.
Carol and Chip moved around from 1981 to 2010 before retiring to Longmont. She loved to cook and bake and entertain family and friends. Carol also loved her dogs and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
Carol is survived by her husband, Chip Fleck of Longmont; her son, Arnie Fleck (Raymond) of Seattle, Wash.; her daughter, Tamie (Lane) Newby of Longmont; two brothers, John Parker (Cathy) of Illinois and Wayne Parker (Marie) of Texas; three sisters, Betty Phelps (Alva), Willa Fowler (Dave) and Mary McKee (Don), all of Illinois; three grandchildren, Andrea Asher, Mathew Schultz and Brooke Steigerwald; and three great-grandsons.
A celebration picnic/potluck of Carol's life will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday Sept. 5, 2010, at Newby Farms 12260 Weld County Road 5, Longmont, CO 80504. Cremation will be at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
