George Gossett Obituary

ROSEVILLE - George Robson Gossett, 62, of Roseville, died Monday (Dec. 7, 2009) at his home.
He was born March 19, 1947, in Monmouth, the son of Carlton and Mary (Robson) Gossett. He was raised and educated in Roseville, where he graduated from Roseville High School in 1965. He attended Monmouth College.
George served in the U.S. Army at Fort Lee, Va., from May 1967 to May 1970.
George married Barbara Haggenjos on Dec. 28, 1974, in Palatine, and she survives.
He worked at Farm King for 20 years and then was the sexton at Faith United Presbyterian Church for a number of years. He then worked at Roseville Village Hardware. He enjoyed woodworking and history in general, including family, cemetery and Roseville history.
He was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church and had been attending Grace Bible Church of Monmouth. He was a life member of Roseville American Legion Post.
His family includes his wife, Barbara of Monmouth; one brother, William (Nancy) Gossett of Roseville; one sister, Elizabeth (Ted) Kalb of Lebanon, Pa.; along with nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Faith United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Myers officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Roseville Township Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 10, at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, where family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be left for Monmouth Nursing Home, Faith United Presbyterian Church or Grace Bible Church.
