Holly Reynolds Obituary

Holly A. Reynolds
Knoxville, IL - Holly A. Reynolds, 52, of East Galesburg, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021, 2:42 PM, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, surrounded by her loving family.
Holly was born on May 25, 1968 in Peoria, Illinois. She was the daughter of Robert and Jean (Carlson) Hamline. Holly married her rock, and the love of her life, Jeff Reynolds on October 18, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg. Together, they shared and celebrated 18 years of life. Holly is survived by her husband, Jeff; daughter, Kathryn; mother, Jean Hamline of East Galesburg; brother, David (Monica) Hamline of Crown Point, IN; sister-in-law, Rosanne (Lee) Atherton of Tucson, AZ; brother-in-law, Jim (Milen) Reynolds of West Palm Beach, FL; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, her beloved cat, Flanagan and her loyal dog, Buddy.
Holly was a graduate of Knoxville High School and attended Monmouth College. She was an administrative assistant for Lake Bracken Country Club. Previously, Holly worked as a paraprofessional at Mabel Woolsey in Knoxville, IL; it was her favorite job because she loved her kids like they were her own and working with her awesome co-workers. Holly was also a founder of the KJHS P.T.O. and looked forward to the annual "Flocking" fundraiser. She dedicated so much time to her school district because she cared for the students and staff so much. She loved music, especially 70's era pop, and was an extremely talented trumpet player. In addition, she also had a beautiful voice and cherished her memories of many nights singing with her karaoke family. She was a self-proclaimed "foodie," enjoying all aspects of food, whether it was cooking, eating, or trying out a new restaurant. She was also a "fashionista," who spent time watching cosmetic tutorials, and reading up on or shopping the latest cosmetic and fashion trends. Holly was a "child of fall" and loved attending the annual Scenic Drive in October, shopping the local arts and crafts. Holly, Jeff and Katie also loved to travel. She had an electrifying personality and was never afraid to be goofy. She had a big generous heart that was full of love for her family and animals. Not only was Holly the "strong Irish girl," she was a courageous warrior who was full of positivity while fighting the toughest war of her life. She never lost her battle; she just ran out of time. She still found a way to remain positive during the times that seemed the bleakest. Holly's bright smile and amazing blue eyes, caring personality and goofy charm will be missed by many, especially by her best friend and confidant, Sarah.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting this young woman, yet reading her life highlights made me envious of those who had the pleasure of being in Holly’s midst.
