Jill Morris Obituary

MONMOUTH - Jill M. Morris, 50, of Monmouth, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday (June 8, 2008) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

She was born July 24, 1957, in Monmouth, the daughter of Dale L. and Shirley (Wertz) Dunlap. She was raised and educated in Little York, graduating from Little York High School in 1975.

Jill married Terry Morris in Monmouth on March 26, 1977 and he survives.

Jill worked at the Warren County Circuit Clerks office for 31 years. She first worked in the Circuit Clerk's office following her graduation from high school. Jill was first elected Warren County Circuit Clerk in 1996 and remained the Circuit Clerk until her passing.

She was a member of the Altrusa Club, the Warren County Republican Women and the former Junior Women's Club. She enjoyed gardening, boating, swimming in the pool and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Terry Morris of Monmouth; one daughter, Megan (Jason) Cook of Monmouth; her mother, Shirley Dunlap of Monmouth; one sister, Judi (Rick) Anderson of Cape Coral, Fla.; one brother, Larry (Karen) Dunlap of Minneapolis, Minn.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and two dogs, Jimminy and Bonkers.

Cremation has been accorded. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with Rev. Jon Sims of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth officiating. A private family committal in New Windsor Cemetery will be at a later date.

Memorials may be left for the Western Illinois Animal Rescue or the Warren County Relay for Life.
