Randy Piper Obituary

GALESBURG - Randy A. Piper, 64, of Galesburg, died at Noon Sunday, July 29, 2012, in the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
He was born Aug. 26, 1947, in Monmouth, the son of Ralph and Belle Logsdon Piper. He married Diane Brown on June 21, 1970, in Gerlaw.
He is survived by his wife, Diane of Galesburg; two sons, Jack (and Jena) Piper of Monmouth and Todd Piper of Galesburg; a grandson, Caleb Joseph Piper; and a sister, Sally (and LeRoy) Weymoth of the state of Delaware. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Piper.
Randy worked as a custodian for School District 38 in Monmouth for many years. He was an active member and elder of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Galesburg. He attended Monmouth High School.
Randy served in the United States Army during Vietnam as a corporal.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in Calvary Assembly of God Church. Pastor Darren Palmer will officiate. Visitation will be 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, near Roseville. Memorials may be made to an education fund for his grandson, Caleb. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
