Shirley Wolfe Obituary

KEWANEE - Shirley J. Wolfe, 77, 605 E. Church St., Kewanee, formerly of Galesburg, died at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, in Royal Oaks Nursing Home, Kewanee.

She was born June 22, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Duane Jenkins Arnold. She married Warren 'Roger' Wolfe on Dec. 10, 1960, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death June 20, 2003.

She is survived by a daughter, Julie (and Eric) Fowler of Washington, Conn.; a brother, Larry Arnold of Atlanta, Ga.; and a grandson, Alexander.

Shirley had worked in the window and interior decorating department at Bergner's for two years, in advertising at the former O.T. Johnson for two years, in the office of the former Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corporation for four years, at Dick Blick for two years and was a receptionist at a dental school in Atlanta for three years. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1949.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with Rev. Randy Douglass officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
