Wilber Holeman Obituary

SEDALIA, Mo. - Wilber "Keith" Holeman, 85, of Sedalia, Mo., formerly of Roseville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Heath Center, Sedalia, Mo.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1922, in Roseville, Ill., the son of DeMoss and Villa Kirby Holeman. He married Geraldine L. Paul on Nov. 5, 1971.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, William T. (Leslie) Pfetcher and James D. Pfetcher; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Elva Jean Bogard; one brother, Ray Holeman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyn Holeman Andrews, Marjorie Holeman Gardner and Mary Catherine Holeman; and three brothers, Paul Holeman, Donald Max Holeman and Rex Leon Holeman.
Wilber served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and Air Force for 22 years, until his retirement at the rank of master sergeant in July 1964. After retirement he worked for 15 years at Whiteman Air Force Base. Prior to his second retirement from civil service, he worked in base administration. He was very active with the Pettis County VFW Honor Guard Post 2591. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was a 33rd degree Mason.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 6, at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, Sedalia, Mo. Dr. Donald Allcorn will officiate. Full military honors will be presented by Pettis County VFW Honor Guard post 2591; the family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service will be at 11 am. Monday, Sept. 8, at Roseville Cemetery, Roseville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the National Federation of the Blind. Pallbearers will be Bill Pfetcher, Jim Pfetcher, Jason Pfetcher and Angela Seymour. Honorary pallbearers will be James Harrison, Richard Swords, Al Hall, Leo Letourneau and Harold Woodall. Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, Ill., is in charge of local arrangements.
