William Jiles Obituary
He was born April 26, 1958, in Galesburg, the son of Melvin Mims and Serena (Marchank) Jiles.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Miller and Dominic Jiles of Iowa; three daughters, Jessica Jiles of Iowa and Jennifer Jiles and Jasmine Pearson of Illinois; a brother, Royce (and Sandy) Jiles of Nebraska; a sister, Donna (and Doric) Smith of Georgia; nine grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Julianne Jiles of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Virgie Oliver and Malinda Oliver Bruce.
Billy graduated from Galesburg High School in 1976. He was a licensed boxing coach in Galesburg and was inducted into the Galesburg Boxing Hall of Fame. He enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears and playing pool. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's events.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. Rev. Robert Donaldson will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.

I have lots of fond memories of playing with Billy and his siblings when we were kids. Billy, Virgie and Melinda were good people and are missed by many. To Royce and Donna, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Billy was my neighbor. He always looked out for me and my family. We looked out for him as well. I gunna miss our laughs and talks. He was a man with a great since of humor. He made me laugh on my darkest days. May he r.i.p. my deepest sympathy to his family. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
