Susan Zbell Obituary

ZBELL, SUSAN Susan Zbell, 90, of Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, June 9th, at Litchfield Woods. She was the wife of the late Edward Kunay and John Zbell. She was born in Mengusouce, Slovakia, on March 10, 1924, a daughter of the late Mary (Meleky) and John Barger, Sr. She worked at The Torrington Co., Torin Mfg. and Inertia Dynamics. An active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, she was a member of the Ladies Altar Guild and Mutual Ministry and Sunday School Teacher, as well as Bible Study Group. She was also a member of Saint Paul’s Retirees Club. Susan is survived by a daughter, Sharon Kunay of Torrington and a son, Edward Kunay and wife Jeanne of Beaver Creek, OH, and their children, Jonathan Kunay and Lindsey Kunay Williams and husband Sean and their children Madeline and Brooklyn. She also leaves a brother, Milan Barger of Torrington and was predeceased by brothers, John and Andrew Barger. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Torrington CT , at 10 AM on Thursday, June 12th, with Rev Thomas Drobena officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 PM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave, Torrington.
