Alfred Ross Cockerline Jr

Alfred Ross Cockerline Jr passed away on January 19th, 2021 at the age of 91, in Eugene. He succumbed to a stroke.
Alfred was born in Long Beach CA on Feb 13, 1929 to Alfred Sr and mother Elizabeth (Betty). The family returned to Lane County to run the family farm in the 1930's.
Growing up he worked on the farm. He loved basketball and graduated from Eugene High School in 1947, before joining the Marines.
When Alfred returned from the Marines he operated and owned a tavern and nightclub. He also sold real estate and became a welder. After Alfred Sr passed away in 1977, Jr took over the family farm "Cockerline Strawberries". Many years later Alfred moved to Mohawk Valley, where he continued to farm pumpkins and raise cows. Alfred also loved boating and became a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Alfred is survived by daughter, Diane Linn McKenzie, her son Matthew Ross Houston and daughter Sarah Linn Houston of Port Orchard, WA He is also survived by daughter Virginia Ann Fitzpatrick (husband Bruce) of Cascade Locks. Son James Ross Cockerline of Eugene. Son Kelly Gene Cockerline of Eugene, his son Michael Lee Cockerline of Dexter. Great grandchildren, Kyler, Kasch, and Cheyenne of WA. Grayson of OR.
A private celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
