Charlotte Crump Obituary

1951 - 2013

Charlotte Jo (Metzler) Crump

Passed away on June, 10, 2013 at RiverBend Medical Center in Springfield at the age of 61. Char was born in Eugene, Oregon on June 29, 1951 to David and Lena Metzler. Services will be held at 2:00 on June 29, 2013 at Living Hope Church 2801 W. 18th Ave. in Eugene. She passed away from respiratory failure.

The most important thing in Char's life was her family. She loved bringing everyone together to share her children, grandchildren and extended family. She worked at Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics for many years where she loved everyone and everyone loved her. She then moved to Stapleton Timber and Excavation to work with her daughter until her disability forced her to stop working in October of 2005. She was a longtime president of the Gemini Twin Club. She loved meeting monthly with her friends and playing Bunco as she did for many years. Char was also an avid bowler, having belonged to several different leagues. She enjoyed going to the casino with her sister. Char was part of the first three year graduating class at Winston Churchill High School in 1969 where she won many awards for choir and participated in the first Bobbi Cheer Team. She loved country swing dancing and was a huge Oregon Duck football fan.

She will be greatly missed by her son Craig Lyon & (Rebecca) of Newberg, Oregon, her twin daughters; Lori Lyon-Hill & (Brodie Thomson) of Virginia and Jeni Stapleton & (Nathan) of Eugene as well as her grandchildren Tanner, McKenzye, Kenadie, Karsyn, Hattie, Nolan, Zander and Kai. She also leaves behind her siblings Pamela Sue Hanneson & (Michael), David Bradley Metzler & (Trish) both of Eugene, three nephews Chris, Jeff, and Ryan and two nieces Angela and Tiffany all of Eugene. Let's not forget her cherished dog Molly. She will also be missed by an incredible group of friends.

Char was a loving, compassionate person. Her favorite quote was from Abraham Lincoln: "LIVE A GOOD LIFE ? And in the end it's not the years in a life, it's the life in the years".

Char...Yesterday, Family & Friends came together to Celebrate Your life! Now that You're looking over all us, You already know just how beautiful and loving the celebration was. There was not a dry eye in the room! The wonderful stories that some shared even made us laugh! It was truly an honor to be included as one of those considered your Friend. I realize that You already know this, but Your Family made you proud! They put so much love and respect into how they wanted to say goodbye. It is comforting in knowing that YOU are with everyone of us here that will miss you, especially your three absolutely amazing children!
" YOU " did good", Char!
All of my love....Shelley

Char---a lovely lady who accepted her challenges with a smile. You are loved by us all, and were greatly cared for by a sweet family and friends who feel the great loss of your absence. Our prayer is that the tears turn to thankfulness and hope that you may have joy, peace and wholeness with our Heavenly Father.

Mom,
I'm incredibly grateful, lucky and proud to be one of your children. The strength, poise, and perseverance you have demonstrated throughout your life has been nothing less than inspiring. Your beautiful face, warm smile, and contagious laughter will be missed by all those you've touched. The impact you've had on me and the lives of others has not been truly known until now. You will continue to be missed and loved by all. Although I'm heartbroken to not have you here, I find comfort in knowing you are continuing to watch over me. I love and miss you!

Ms. Char...I know in my heart that you are in a much better place, but those who
love you and depend on your gentle spirit are painfully feeling the loss of you! You have raised such an awesome and solid family and because of that, you can rest easy knowing that they have each other to lean on. We will all miss you and I know that I will carry our "special" moments with me! I'm so glad that I got to meet you!!

Char, two of my best memories are with you---Puerta Vallarta and the Tim McGraw/Faithe Hill concert with you and the girls.
You raised 3 incredible children whom I am so very fortunate to be friends with. God Bless.
