Dennis Blomberg Obituary

January 2, 2016
After a fierce battle against Cancer, Dennis F. Blomberg passed away on Jan 2, 2016 surrounded by his family and close friends at RiverBend Hospital here in Springfield, OR. He lived in Drain as a child and then moved to North Bend, graduating from North Bend High School in 1965. He worked for the Railroad as an Engineer and retired after 42 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar racing, holiday dinners and spending quality time with his children and many grandchildren. He was a simple, hard-working, honest and loving man who was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand or a listening ear. Anyone who knew him loved him.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Floyd "Bud" Blomberg and Dorothy E. Blomberg of North Bend and his sister Barbara Irving of North Bend. He is survived by his son Rod Blomberg and daughter Kim Schnetzky, Step-children Scott Hansen, Jodi Stephens and Bryce Griffith and 11 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.

Dennis, you are a forever friend and neighbor to the Pearson's. You are deeply cared about by us and especially Tym, he holds you close and regards you as a great guy! He loves you!
Thank you for your friendship and the support you gave Tym along with us at the games. You were always a happy and welcomed presence when we were side by side cheering for Thurston!
We are grateful for your positive attitude and enthusiasm when we gathered; you were always welcoming and enjoyable! We had fun watching Tym and Bryce grow in front of us!

We, too, are saddened by the loss of a great friend & classmate. Dennis was always ready for fun, was a trusted buddy and honored his friends and family. We were all delighted that he came to our 50th class reunion, where he got tuckered out but had a grand time. Thank you to our classmates Stan & Terry Lovell and Sophie & Rod Luckovich, who kept a bedside vigil with Dennis's two children, Rod & Kim, Dennis' last days with us. We lost one of the truly good guys when we lost Dennis Blomberg. Bless his heart!

I'm saddened to hear of Dennis's passing. He was a great all-around guy and fun to be around and to work with out on the rails. A man's man for sure. He will be missed by all that knew him, friends, family & loved ones.
