Faye Evelyn Neuman

Faye was born November 28, 1923 in Crosby, North Dakota to William and Evelyn Chalcroft. After graduation from Crosby High School she went to work as a secretary for Bank of North Dakota, then Sparks Willington Co. in Jackson, Michigan.

Faye moved to Pensacola, Florida to marry Vince Neuman on July 19, 1944, the day after he received his Navy wings and commission. They moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he was a flight instructor.

After the war they moved to Bismarck, North Dakota, then Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1950 they moved to Eugene, Oregon where they started Neuman Supply Co. while raising their four children. In 1982 Faye and Vince sold Neuman Supply, bought a motorhome, and spent many years traveling around the country.

Faye had a passion for life, her family and her religion. She was very active in St. Peter's Catholic Church while her children were younger, and St. Marks in later years. She and Vince spent years camping at Crescent Lake surrounded by their family and many friends. Faye was amazing at quilting and needlework, making each one of her grandchildren a quilt, as well as very personalized needlework pictures. Faye loved Christmas, making that a very special time for her family which is a tradition carried on to this day. Faye was a very loving, kind wife, mother, and grandmother.

Faye passed peacefully August 11, 2015 from pneumonia, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Vince, daughters Sue Luke and Patty Neuman, and son Jim (Chris) Neuman, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister Lois Tigner, and brothers Bob (Elizabeth) Chalcroft and George Chalcroft. She is preceded in death by her daughter Sharon Martin, brothers William Chalcroft and Charles Chalcroft.

Per Faye's request, services will be private. A special thanks to Chateau Gardens Memory Care and their amazing staff who took wonderful care of Faye for over 4 1/2 years. Remembrances can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
