Fred Davidson Obituary

A Celebration of Life will be held for Fred Davidson on September 14 at 1 p.m., at Westside Christian Church, 1866 Chambers St, Eugene. Fred is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pauline Davidson; their children, grandchildren, and his siblings. He received his Associates at LCC and went on to complete many certifications to be a Drug & Alcohol Counselor and Supervisor. For over 21 years Fred helped improve the lives of clients, their families, friends and colleagues at Willamette Family Treatment Center and in our community. His unique listening skills, giving heart, sound advice and 24/7 phone-call-away attitude was comforting to many and will be greatly missed.

As a fellow counselor at Carleton House, I occasionally had the opportunity to sit with Fred at his desk and chat. Looking around from the chair it was easy to see what a large and loving family Fred belonged to. I know there are many who will mourn his death but they will also be filled with many memories of the wonderful person that Fred was. My sympathies to all the family and his many friends, and I send special thoughts to his wonderful wife Pauline.

This is unbelieveable to me. Like I will wake up and realize it was just a dream. I have known Fred and Pauline for years and years. Fred was a great guy, and a loving person. He always smiled when you seen him. I just cant believe he is gone. I spoke with him on the phone approx. 2 weeks ago. He sounded fine. We played countless hours of bingo together. Fred and Pauline were at my wedding. I was just looking at those pictures today. I have one of me and Fred together. If you didnt know better you would think it was Fred and I getting married. Oh my God I cant believe this is happening. God must have needed a really special person up in Heaven. He chose wisely. Thank you God for letting us all have Fred in our lives one way or another. We will miss him immensely. Thoughts and prayers to Pauline and family. We will all see him again one day. <3<3

I first met Fred 22years ago when I was working at bingomania. He was the kind of man that would greet you with a smile and a hearty handshake and a hello. He was always friendly and treated everyone as if they were his friend. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was an old school gentleman and I admired him for that. We didn't see each other that often, but when we did it was like we had just seen each other yesterday. Fred was one to give and give and never expect anything in return. He was someone that you could never forget, someone that would have a great impact on anyone's life if you were lucky enough to have met him. He was a one of kind man and was very dear to me and my family. Rest in peace to the man who isn't only an angel above now, but was an angel here on earth as well. My heart aches for his family and close friends. You are one of the most amazing men to enter our lives and was taken way to soon. You are one who will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.
