James Kephart Obituary
Ray was born on January 12, 1930 to Harve and Nellie (White) Kephart in Murphy, North Carolina.
He served in the United States Army from April 1949 to August 1955. He served in the Korean war. He received several medals. Including National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal W/6 Bronze Service Stars, Republic Of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal.
He moved to Oakridge in 1955 where he began working as a millworker. He worked in mills for over 38 years.
He married Karen Kay Wolff on January 29, 1960. He is survived by his wife Karen of 53 years; His daughters: Glenda (Vohn) Kephart, Tami (Donnie) Parrish, Julie (Doug) Arnold; Sons: James Jr (Teresa) Kephart all of Oakridge and Tim (Jennifer) Kephart of York, S.C.; Sisters: Edna Lovingood, and Zelda Decker; and a brother Lowen Kephart, all of Murphy N.C.;13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; And a special niece Staci Johnson; And Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by grandson Ricky Young.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 2:00 pm at The First Baptist Church 47606 School St., Oakridge, Oregon 97463

I may of known mr Kephart but he more than likely knew my prents the
