Joan Ackerman Obituary
May 18, 2018, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, peacefully passed away at her home in Eugene, Oregon, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 3, 1928 to Carl and Marion Barge in Los Angeles, California. She attended school in Los Angeles. The family moved to Eugene in 1946, where she met her husband to be Leonard Ackerman. They were married August 31, 1946 and were able to celebrate over 50 years of marriage.
She was a homemaker, who enjoyed baking, sewing, family activities and was very artistic. She was active in her church and dedicated her time in several community service organizations. She will be missed by her beloved friends and family.
Survivors include her daughters, Lynne Lasher (Richard), Carolyn Hogan (Walter), and Becky Cromwell (Bruce), and son Dick Ackerman (Linda), 11 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday
June 9, 1:30 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Eugene. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital in Portland Oregon.

Dear Ackerman Children, Was wondering about your Mom -- afraid I'd find what I did find- I will let Gary and Chuck know - they will be very saddened. We all have very special memories of your family and ours. What a beautiful picture of your Mom, always looked forward to her Christmas card. May you all find peace and joy in great memories of Joan.
