John McSwane went to be with our Lord on Sept. 20th, 2016. John was born in Pioneer Station, California. He grew up in Freedom, Arkansas and throughout California Gold country. He attended Amador High School and joined the Army in 1963. He worked in the construction industry in California, Nevada and Oregon, and belonged to Laborers Union.
He married his wife of 49 years in 1967. He was preceded in death by his parents, Packer and Florence McSwane and 4 siblings, Arnold and Robert Seratte, Jim McSwane and Irene Brewer. He is survived by his wife, Hilda McSwane of Springfield, and Daughters Valerie Oakley of Fairfield, Montana and Lorrie Scow of Reno, Nevada. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, Matthew and Ruth Oakley and Johnny and Katelin Scow.
Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, OR, Monday, Sept. 26th at 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
