Sandra Shoop Obituary

Sandra (Sandy) Christine Shoop

Sandra passed away July 11th, 2013 surrounded by her family, from the long term effects of treatment for Hodgkins cancer.

Sandy was born January 21, 1964 in San Rafael, California to James and Carol (Caldwell) Hall. She graduated from Willamette High School in 1982. Sandy married David Shoop at St. Marks Catholic Church in Eugene on October 1, 1983. Sandy was blessed with the birth of her two children, Andrea on February 16, 1987 and James on February 5, 1989. She was employed in the medical field as an insurance billing specialist.

Sandy enjoyed life surrounded by family and friends. She had a tremendous creative gift that she shared freely with any and all. Using her many talents as a seamstress, baker, party coordinator and decorator. There was never a challenge she was unwilling to take on for others.

Sandy had the ability to make a new acquaintance feel like a long lost friend. Along with her crafts, Sandy enjoyed spending time with her children, family and friends, weekends at the Oregon coast, spoiling her pets and finding any reason for a social get together.

Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of almost 30 years David, her 2 children Andrea and James (Katelyn) Shoop, her mother Carol and stepfather Ken Petersen, a sister Karen (Mike) Dehaven, a brother Steve (Michelle) Hall, 7 nieces & nephews and 4 godchildren.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father James.

Remembrances in lieu of flowers can be sent in Sandy's name to the American Cancer Society. A Celebration of Sandy's life will be held Monday July 22, 2013 at 7pm at Sweet Cheeks Winery 27007 Briggs Hill Road in Eugene.

Arrangements entrusted to West Lawn Memorial Funeral Home. Please access the obituary and you are invited to sign the guestbook at musgroves.com

I am so sorry to hear of Sandy's passing. I worked with her at SelectCare/Providence and also talked to her often after we both left. Our paths would cross with our work. She was such a wonderful lady and I always enjoyed our short phone visits when she'd call regarding work issues. She will be missed by so many. My love and prayers to the family. Cherish the wonderful memories you have of her.
