I have not seen this memory page until now, but I knew about Steve's death early on. Steve was one of the kindest souls and one of the best high school friends ever. We were the same class and we had many serious talks about life and faith and our directions in life. Even after high school we met up at Mazzi's to continue our "serious" life conversations. Truly sad to hear about his passing and I thank you Steve for being such a good friend to me during those high school years and beyond. You were a true friend. RIP my friend.

It's impossible to forget that charming, somewhat mischievous smile Steven shared so readily. We all miss him; forever in our hearts. Marsha, Alvin, Zoe and Joseph Begun. 11/15/23

I still think of Steven often. He was so welcoming and supportive when Jason and I married. I´ll never forget it.
He was truly one of a kind and will forever be missed!

Steven was our nephew by marriage to our niece Jerrilyn. His love for Jerrilyn was obvious and for that alone we loved him. But we also loved him for his sweetness, his positive presence at family gatherings, and his kindness to all of us, He was an Oregonian through and through, having great respect and appreciation for the woods, and rivers and streams where he loved camping and hunting and fishing. We saw him on FB alot looking like a Duck in green and yellow and smiling beside Jerrilyn.
Steven was always fun to be around and we will miss him very much. May his memory be a blessing for all of those who loved him.

Steve was my locker buddy in 7th grade as Spencer Butte, never forgot each other, but didn't touch bases as often as we should have.

I did not keep in touch with Steve after I graduated but I have always had fond memories of him. He took me to my senior prom which I am sure was purely a pity date because he knew I had never been to a prom. I will always be thankful to him and remember him for his kindness and caring to all. Rest in Peace Steve. You will never be forgotten.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Steve's passing. This is a great loss to us, as it is to the community. Pulling in to the Chevron and seeing Steve's truck there, knowing he would come out with his sweet smile and welcoming greeting, knowing I could have a friendly chat with him, or bring my vehicle in any time to check it or have repairs, knowing he would be explaining everything and dealing fairly, always. But mostly just his kindness, his generous nature, the feeling that I had just made his day by stopping by. He drove out to bring me gas one time when I'd run out of gas in my new Prius, and he never let me hear the end of that. We sat and listened to the last game of the NBA Championship between the Blazers and the Lakers, years ago, when I had blown the motor in my truck and was waiting for a ride. We are so sad for you, his family, and for the whole community and for ourselves. Thank you Steve, for being such a great human being, and rest in peace; I hope there's fishing where you have gone. Love from Ruthann and Samantha Duncan
