EATON — George Mark Schoettinger, 74, of Eaton, died Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Kettering Health, Kettering.
Born on Nov. 30, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, he was the son of the late George M. & Marian L. (Hahn) Schoettinger. George was a 1965 Trenton High School graduate in Trenton, Michigan, and worked for Rosa's Office Supply in Richmond, Indiana where he was a repair technician for over 30 years. He was a member of the NHRA, Ham Radio of Dayton and the Corvette Club of Troy. George enjoyed fishing, boating, water skiing, playing cards, traveling to the Smoky Mountains but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother: James Lee Schoettinger in 2020.
Survived by his wife of 51 years: Karen Sue (Yount) Schoettinger; sons: Matthew (Terri) Schoettinger and Michael (Sara) Schoettinger; grandchildren, Austin, Summer, Gage, and Chase; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Sophia, and Miya; niece and nephew.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 9, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, with Pastor Don Tucker officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place privately at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.
Memorial contributions may be made to Preble County Council on Aging, 800 E. St. Clair St., Eaton, OH 45320. Condolences may be sent to the family via the Guestbook at www.barnesfuneralhome.com.
