Jack Deem Obituary

EATON — Jack A. Deem, 83, of Eaton, and formerly of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton.

Born on July 24, 1938, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Cecil Clairmont & Winona (Cochran) Deem. Jack retired after 20 plus years as a technical writer for LexisNexis in Dayton. He was a 1956 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a graduate from Glenville State College and earned his master's degree from The Ohio State University. Jack worked for many years as a poll worker and presiding judge for the Preble County Board of Elections, a member of the Fairhaven Community Church, Preble County Board of Education and served on the Preble County Rural Zoning Board.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet L. Ankrom.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lois A. (Deisher) Deem; son, Nicholas C. (Katrina) Deem; daughter: Serita (Scott) Wilson; brothers-in-law: Phil (Judy) Deisher and Jack Deisher; sisters-in-law: Jean Reichard, Ruth (Ronnie) Reige and Beth Kirtland; grandchildren: Sarah (Steven) Yeakley, Sydney (Ethan) Wills, Oliva Deem, Nevaeh Deem, Hunter Deem and Sage Cohen; great-grandchildren: Cooper & Charlotte Yeakley; nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, with Dr. Rev. Richard Studebaker officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fairhaven Community Church, 6585 Israel-Somers Rd., Camden, OH 45311. Condolences may be sent to the family via the website at www.barnesfuneralhome.com.
