It is with profound sadness that the family of Bernard Owen White, 82, of Waterbury, CT, shares the news of his peaceful passing on September 16, 2025, in the comfort of the home he built 55 years ago. He was the beloved husband of Angela B. (Michelli) White for over 60 years.
Bernie was born in Waterbury on January 3, 1943, the son of the late Donald H. and Rose Irene (Trainor) White. He was a graduate of the carpentry program at W.F. Kaynor Technical High School, and proudly served his country in the CT Army National Guard. Early in his career he was a carpenter for the Waterbury Education Department, and ultimately became a business owner of Kitchen Designs, Inc. of Thomaston, improving many people's homes and lives for over 30 years. He could do and fix anything for everyone and anyone. His wit and sense of humor was second to none.
Besides his wife Angela (and Baci too) he leaves to honor and cherish his memory, his daughter Bernadette White Chura and Tim LaFond of Prospect, his son Steven Martin White and Patrick Doran of Brooklyn, NY. He was predeceased by his son Douglas Bernard White. He was also a proud grandfather to his grandson, Connor P. Chura and Sarah (Brochu) of Simsbury, his grandson Drew I. Chura of Los Angeles, CA, and his grandson Chase L. Chura of Prospect; and a great-grandson, Killian Douglas Chura. Bernie also leaves his sisters-in-law, Grace White of Waterbury, Christine Guiditta of Watertown, and Eleanor Perezella of Glastonbury, many nieces and nephews, life-long friends, and his devoted caregivers Jose and Michelle. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard J. and Donald J. White; sisters-in-law Mary White and Rosemary Rupenski; brothers-in-law William Rupenski, Pat Perezella, and Thomas Guiditta; and in-laws Victor and Rose Michelli.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held Saturday September 20, 2025 at 8:45 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial (with Military honors) will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
