THOMASTON– It is with profound sadness that the family of Daniel Patrick Grecco Jr., age 16, of Thomaston, share the news of his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family, after a lifelong battle with Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Daniel was born on January 19, 2009, in Waterbury, CT, the beloved son of Daniel and Nicole (Levesque) Grecco Sr. He was attending 10th grade at Aces Whitney Academy in Hamden. Daniel's spirit was illuminated by his love for NASCAR, the thrilling races sparking his imagination and passion for excitement. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often seen walking on boardwalks, savoring the sweet indulgence of ice cream, spent countless hours on his iPad, where he created his own little universe of adventures, and sharing moments with his family that will forever be etched in their hearts. His cherished moments were often shared with Chloe, his faithful dog, whose loyal companionship brought comfort and happiness to his life. Though his time with us was far too short, his spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Together, Daniel and his family faced each day with quiet courage and a heart full of love, teaching those around them the true meaning of strength.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his devoted parents, are his sisters, Amanda and her fiancé Nicholas, Briana, and Haley. He also leaves his grandmother, Sandra Levesque; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Daniel was predeceased by his grandparents, Brian Levesque, and Michael and Lillian Grecco.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Daniel's family on Tuesday, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
