James Wren Obituary

James H. Wren Sr.
"Loving husband, father and
grandfather"
James H. Wren Sr., age 84, of Watertown, and formerly of Oakville, passed away peacefully September 28, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Ciriello) Wren.
James was born December 20, 1940, in Plymouth, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Caruthers) Uren. James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement in 2003, James had worked at the former Seymour Smith & Sons factory in Oakville, PTC Aerospace in Bantam, and at Southbury Training School. He was an avid fisherman, who also enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Falls Avenue Senior Center in Oakville. Above all, James always found his greatest joy being surrounded by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know and love him. James is remembered by all as a kind, gentle soul, who always had much greater pleasure in giving and providing for others rather than receiving.
Besides his wife of 58 years, he leaves his sons, James Wren Jr. and his wife, Maria of Prescott, AZ, Joseph Wren and his wife, Loren of East Lyme, his grandchildren, Angel, Christian, Katy, Sean and Trevin Wren, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Lopez, Francine Uren, Ida Jenkins, and his brothers, Joseph Uren, William Uren, Arthur Wren, Orville Wren, and Henry Uren.
Arrangements: Funeral, Saturday, October 4th, at 10 AM from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to Saint John the Evangelist Church, in Watertown, to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in Watertown. Calling hours Saturday morning from 8 AM to 10 AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
