MIDDLEBURY- Lillian I. (Zellers) Terrill, 100, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was the wife of the late Edwin L. Terrill.
Lillian was born in Milton, PA on February 18, 1925, daughter to the late George and Lulu (Coup) Zellers. She lived in Naugatuck for many years. Lillian raised her family before working at The Clothier Thrift Shop for 30 years. She was a dedicated member of The Congregational Church of Naugatuck and Union Congregational Church in Oakville and a member of the Women's Christian Fellowship. She was active at the Watertown Senior Center and very involved with the knitting group there, knitting liners for helmets for members of the military and many other charitable projects. Lillian loved sewing and crafts. She was an animal lover, especially of dogs and birds. Lillian's happiest memories were of time spent boating on Candlewood Lake with her husband and family. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren more than anything. She was a loving, giving and sincere person.
Lillian is survived by her children Jeanne Slason, Lester Terrill and Elizabeth Terrill; her half sisters, May Preble and Sarah Zellers; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Lillian was predeceased by her son, Edwin D. Terrill; and her sister, Gladys Baumgardener.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, followed by burial in Grove Cemetery, 1 Cross St., Naugatuck. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the beginning of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Lillian's name to Union Congregational Church, 167 Buckingham St., Oakville, CT 06779 or The Congregational Church of Naugatuck 9 Division St., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
