Ray Campbell Obituary

Ray Campbell III
Terryville - Ray "Johnny" Campbell III, 77, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Decker) Campbell for 54 years.
Ray was born in Key West, Florida on November 10, 1948, son of Ray J. Campbell Jr. and Norma (Hartigan) Campbell. He graduated from Marist College with a degree in economics and worked for BIC Pen for 32 years. He had a deep love for history, a devotion to the thrill of the game, especially when the Giants took the field, and a soft spot for the timeless charm of old Westerns. But his greatest joy was his family who meant the world to him.
Including his wife, Kathleen, Ray leaves behind his children, Carrie Smail, and her husband, Scott, Kristina Owens, and her husband, Timothy, and Ray J. Campbell IV, and his wife, Colleen; his grandchildren, Molly Smail, Cara Smail, Army 1st Lieutenant Ethan Owens, Bradley Owens, Reagan "Rey" Owens, and Avery Owens, his great-grandson, Cameron Evans; his siblings, Diane Campbell, Joanne Shandorf, and her husband, Raymond, and Mary Beth Connelly, and her husband, Mark; his sister-in-law, Laurine Campbell and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Campbell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 22 at 11 a.m., at St Thomas Church, 1 E. Main St., Thomaston. Burial will be held privately.
