Richard Jurzyk Obituary

Richard G. Jurzyk, Sr.
07/13/1936 - 08/06/2025
MILFORD, CT
"A guy who always came first"
Richard "Trick" Jurzyk Sr., 89, of Milford, passed away peacefully on August 6th, knowing all of his bills were paid.
Born and raised in Waterbury, he liked to let everyone know he was "the baby of the family". He was predeceased by his brother, Robert; and, more recently, his dear sister, Roberta Marinara, who was a great support to him when he became a widower. His surviving brother, Ronald Jurzyk Sr. is still full of pep in Wolcott.
Trick served four years in the Navy, during the Korean War, and was a proud veteran and American patriot. He was a machine operator at Truelove & Maclean for 35 years. Retiring to the beach in Milford, he enjoyed long power walks, getting good use out of his "two knees and a hip" replacements. Trick was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Mary (Mer) Festa, whom he missed terribly.
He and Mer were blessed with three children: daughter, Dawn (Dave) Rovinetti of New Braunfels, TX, his son, Rick (Lisa) Jurzyk of Orange, and his son, Mark Jurzyk of Milford, whose devoted care made it possible to keep him in his home until the end. Pa will be lovingly missed by his six grandchildren: Frank (Salome) Basile, Eric (Samantha) Rovinetti, Cameron, Kayla, Evan and Audrey Jurzyk; and his great-granddaughter, Adrianna Rovinetti.
His most precious relationship was between he and his TV. Trick enjoyed watching sports (Red Sox, Knicks, Giants), western, gangster, and detective movies. He loved a good fried shrimp platter from Jimmy's of West Haven, although he complained the shrimp count on the plate had decreased significantly over the years. He spent plenty of time on the treadmill at the YMCA, utilizing the Silver Sneakers Program, where he enjoyed socializing while walking on a speed of 0.5 and incline 0.
Special thanks to his kind caregiver, Anne, who took him gallivanting, enriching his quality of life. A devout Catholic, his family takes comfort knowing he is in heaven, reunited with his lost loved ones.
Arrangements: All services and burial for Richard are private. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, has been entrusted with assisting the family with Richard's arrangements.
