David Harmes Obituary

David W. Harmes, age 54, passed away unexpectedly at his Loveland home on December 6, 2013. He was born to Willis J and Mary Lois (nee Coogan) Harmes on September 18, 1959 in Rochester, NY. His mother preceded him in death in 1981. He is survived by his father Willis, step-mother Charlene, brother Tom (Carolyn) Harmes of Fort Collins and sisters Karen (Joel) Hendrickson of Highlands Ranch, CO and Susan Harmes Bolton of Madison, AL. He was uncle to several nieces and nephews. David became a Loveland resident after moving here with his family from Rochester, NY in 1971 and is a 1978 graduate of Loveland High School. Unknown to many, he was a creative artist, especially fond of Southwestern themes. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, with his greatest passion being for landscaping, including unique designs of rock scapes and waterfalls. David had a love for nature, enjoying fishing, camping and hiking. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at First Christian Church, 2000 North Lincoln Ave, Loveland. Inurnment immediately following at Loveland Burial Park with a reception afterward in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to House of Neighborly Service (honservice.org), 565 North Cleveland Ave, Loveland, CO 80538.
