Michael Clayton Saur

Michael Clayton Saur, age 80, died on Thursday, August 10, 2023 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Michael was born in Freemont, Michigan on October 25, 1942 to Don and Margaret Saur. He grew up on his family's farm in Grant Michigan, where he graduated from Grant High School in 1960. Michael is survived by his wife Elizabeth Anne; his brother Mark; his daughter Devon and her husband Craig; his son Andrew and his wife Jeannie; his grandchildren Margaret, Jack, Gordon, and Charlie; and many dear members of his family. Michael was preceded in death by his brothers Larry and Doug. Michael moved to Berthoud, Colorado in 1971 where he founded Wagon Wheel Plastics in 1975, later renamed to MS Plastics. Michael built his business from humble beginnings in a Berthoud garage and grew it to become a very successful plastics supplier to Colorado businesses. An avid outdoorsman, Michael's hobbies included traveling, hunting, camping, and all things tractors. A true family man, Michael enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his home in Berthoud, where kids and grandkids could play with his many vehicles (especially John Deere tractors), pets, horses, and other farm animals. Michael is much loved and is dearly missed by his family and friends. Arrangements celebrating Michael's life are being handled by Mark's Funeral Home in Windsor, Colorado. Services will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 2 pm at Berthoud Activity Hall, 619 N 4th Street, Berthoud, CO. Donations in honor of Michael Saur can be made to Hearts & Horses at 163 N.
