Dwayne E. Wallace, 78, of Abilene, Texas went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, May 11, 2015.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 13, at the funeral home. Inurnment of cremains will be at 11:00 am on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

Dwayne was born in Lookout Point, Colorado to Mona and Russell Wallace on August 22, 1936. He spent most of his early years in Delores, Colorado and surrounding towns thru out the mountains of Colorado. He married Sarah J. Wallace on February 12, 1981. Dwayne retired from Lockheed as an X-Ray technician after 28 years of employment. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, with his last ship being "USS Philippine Sea." Dwayne's past occupations included Barber, Highway Patrol, Cowboy, as well as a Photographer.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Russell Wallace; his mother, Mona Wallace; and his brother, "Babe" Russell Wallace.

Dwayne is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sarah J. Wallace; his children Lisa Wallace, Cynthia McMillion and husband Tommy, Sheila Surgeon and husband Mike; his grandchildren: Heather, Ashley, Colin, Meika, John Michael, Macie and Madilynn, along with four great-grandchildren.

Men of Honor (In lieu of Pallbearers) will be Marty Burleson, Mike Surgeon, John Michael Surgeon, Colin Cloud, Kelly Buford, Michael Cloud and Colton Surgeon.

Memorials may be given to National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org) in Dwayne's honor.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the many doctors who provided wonderful care for Dwayne during his fight; Dr. Fakhouri, Dr. Yamini Kalla, Dr. Melnyk, Dr. Ryali.
