James Tatum Obituary
Abilene, TX
James Randall Tatum, 64, of Abilene, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral service will be 10:00AM Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope with Reverend Paul Matta officiating. Burial will follow at Tuscola Cemetery, under the direction of Abilene Funeral Home.
Mr. Tatum was born May 19, 1953, in Abilene, Texas to James Milton and Shirley Ann Pearce Tatum. He graduated from Abilene High School and attended Hardin Simmons Baptist University. James was a mechanic for the City of Abilene many years.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Ann Tatum of Abilene; his children, son, Eddie Tatum (Amy) of Alvarado, Texas and Ashley Tatum Fisher (Arlen) of Lakeway, Texas; grandchildren, Blake, Brittney, Abigail, Ty and Callie; a brother, Larry Tatum (Ramona) of Abilene; numerous nephews and friends; and his beloved dog, Charlie.
Mr. Tatum was preceded in death by his father, James Milton Tatum; and a sister, Tracey Harvey.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Friday, February 16, 2018 at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th Street.

My deepest sympathy to Randy's family. I am sorry for your loss and pray that God will give you peace and comfort.
Randy and I are second cousins, once removed and Shirley and I went to school together from the 7th grade forward.

I am a friend of the Tatum family through Grace White Mulloy and David Ball. In researching the Ball family I found both of them and found cousins and life long friends. Please accept my condolences for the loss of James Randall "Randy" Tatum
and prayers for your family. He will be entered into our genealogical records and
remain there in spirit with all the ancestors of our time.
