Norma Jo Stoecker Obituary
Winters, TX
Norma Joe Braddock Karr Stoecker, 79, of Winters, passed away November 27, 2017 Jo was born January 2, 1938 in Abilene. She graduated from Abilene High School and attended Hardin-Simmons University where she met the father of her children, John Worth "Dub" Karr, August 20, 1957 in Spur, Texas. They raised their family in the Wylie community where they resided until Dub's death on January 12, 1976. Jo married Paul Alexander Stoecker on July 2, 1977 and they made their home in Winters until Paul's death on November 30, 2015. Jo was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was employed by the investment firm of Edward Jones until her retirement.
She is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter: Mike and Cindy Karr of Hamby, Marty and Patty Karr of Port Aransas and Suzanne Karr of Abilene. 2 step-sons and 1 step-daughter: Mike Stoecker of Abilene, Tom Stoecker of Winters and Sharon and John Ellis of Dublin. 2 sisters: Becky Marsh and Cristi Treat. 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday November 30, 2017 at Winters Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Friday December 1, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church with burial following at the Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Abilene Boys Ranch.
