Marc Patton Obituary

Marc Duane Patton, age 69, of rural Crawfordsville, died in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, as a result of injuries sustained in a pickup crash, Monday, March 13, 2017 near Crawfordsville. He was born in Crawfordsville, Nov. 24, 1947 son of the late Clyde O. and Wilma Gene Quigg Patton. He married Leverne Breeding in Nashville, Tenn. on April 20, 1968 and she survives.
Marc was a 1966 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star and was honorably discharged as a Specialist 5th Class.
Marc wasn't always aware of it, but he was born a farmer. In April of 1970 he loaded their belongings into farm trucks and moved Leverne from Nashville, Tenn., to the farm in Montgomery County, where they enjoyed a life of farming. More recently he was proud to be working side by side with his best friend and son Eric, operating the farm. Besides his family and farming, Marc's passion was 'Bracket Racing'. He successfully raced a '84 Camaro. He was a member of the NHRA and enjoyed his morning coffee sessions with his Wingate Buddies at the 'North End'. Many of the world's problems were discussed and overcome each day!
Many describe Marc as 'unique' and a true blue friend! He never changed or wavered, 'he was what he was' and many aspire to be like him! He was the 'life' of any gathering!
Surviving along with his wife Leverne, is a son, Eric (Tammy) Patton of rural Crawfordsville, granddaughter Bailey who was the light of his eye. Two sisters: Jerilyn (Tim) Isley of Whitestown and Deatra (Ed) Kinney of Milford. Nieces and nephew: Eddie and Megan Kinney, Victoria Neff, Chelsea and Alex Isley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
