William G. "Trader Bill" Parish

Kingman - William G. "Trader Bill" Parish, 80, of Kingman, died 10:33 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 at his residence. He was born on this farm and had lived his entire 80 years here.
Born Oct. 11, 1930 at the home place in Kingman, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mildred (Meade) Parish.
He married Pat Grissom July 2, 1960 in Crawfordsville. She survives. They celebrated their 50th anniversary earlier this year.
Also surviving, are: a son, John (Carla) Parish of Covington; a daughter, Penny (Ralph) Wakefield of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother Ruth (Stucker) Parish.
A 1949 graduate of Kingman High School, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the F.& A.M. Lodge #636 in Yeddo.
Bill was employed for many years as a livestock inspector for Indiana Board of Health. He spent much of his time trading and selling along with flea marketing.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Kenneth Majors officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment at Centennial Cemetery in Kingman.
