Darren Albertson Obituary

Darren J Albertson, Father, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend was called back to his Heavenly Father on August 29, 2022.

Darren was born on January 1, 1963 in Driggs, Idaho to Mark and Betty Albertson. He was the sixth of their seven children - Susan, Les, Wyatt, Monte, Jan, and Janean. He grew up in Ashton, Idaho, attending school at Ashton Elementary, Fremont Jr and Sr High School. He has always had a love of sports, participating in both basketball and football during his High School years. After Graduation he went on to attend Ricks College for a year before serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was called to serve the people of Fukuoka, Japan. He loved the language, culture, and people of Japan.

After returning home from his mission he continued his education at BYU in Provo, Utah. While living in Provo he met Cindy Jo Butler at The Palace where they were both working. They were married on March 28,1986, but would later divorce in 2008.

During this union he was blessed with 5 precious children - Tavis (Whitney), Trevon (Jenny), Earthy (Joe), Tylan (Chelae), and Tanner (Amanda). Darren was further blessed by 7 Grandchildren who he adored and doted on immensely - Peyton, Jaylee, Harlie, Maggie, Milo, Von and Ollie.

Darren had many callings in the Church and with every calling he served with great faith because of his love for the Lord and His gospel. He was very knowledgeable of the scriptures and about almost everything. He was always looking up facts and sharing them with others.

He was a very talented artist and poet; his art work was his living. He would use this love for illustration to work for companies like The Liberty Mint, PUGS gear, and was working for Rimports LLC at the time of his death. He would do other commission work for local authors and art lovers. His illustrations and art work were amazing and are loved by many. Touching the hearts of everyone who saw them. His soul came out on paper whenever he wrote a poem or drew anything.

He was a true sports enthusiast. He loved the New York Jets (football) and Utah Jazz (basketball). He really enjoyed collecting their memorabilia and had a long knowledge of the teams and players. He was also a true Alma Mater of the North Fremont High School Huskies and would watch their football and basketball games online.

He was known as the "Fun Uncle and Grandpa", because of his practical jokes, great sense of humor, and was the gentle giant who would do anything for anyone. He would give the best hugs at any time. He had a love for life, family, his country, and the Constitution; these things made him a wonderful person to be around. We love you with all our hearts and will miss you.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Prayers and love to all of Darren´s children and grandchildren and family. Darren and I became great friends as he illustrated my Don´t Blink trilogy. I want his children and grandchildren to know that as we spent hundreds of hours talking over the phone through this project, he expressed again and again how much he loved his family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Darren was so kind and patient with me. Darren had a brilliant mind, so creative, he could read my stories and make them absolutely come alive! I am so grateful to have known Darren, he was an Extraordinary,Excellent, Exemplary man. You should all be proud to call him dad and grandpa! I´m sure he´s already busy on the other side creating magnificent masterpieces from his gifts and talents!
