Marian Hibbert Obituary

Marian Hibbert, of St. Anthony, died April 9, 2015, of natural causes.
Marian was born July 6, 1934, to Thomas N. Hibbert and Leolin Faye Johnson Hibbert. She was the youngest of six children. She spent her younger years in Parker, Idaho, until 1941, when her father purchased the land that she has since resided on.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served an LDS mission in the Virginia and Carolina areas.
Marian graduated from South Fremont High School in 1952 and continued her education, graduating from Ricks College with an Associate of Arts Degree and also from Brigham Young University in Provo with a Bachelor of Arts. She also attended classes at Idaho State University. Marian never stopped learning, she read continuously throughout her life, reading Encyclopedias, National Geographic, and many books. She used to say that the way she traveled was through her books.
She worked at Blackfoot Middle School as a librarian for over 30 years. She enjoyed her time there and made many lifelong friends. During the summers she spent her time taking care of things on the farm, and upon her retirement she was able to concentrate fully on the farm, which was what she loved. Over the years, Marian hired many people to help her, and they always left better than they came. She was an inspiration to all. She loved life and the beautiful things in it, and she especially loved animals - all of them.
Marian was a hard worker and over the years, she took care of her mother; a sister, Jewell; and a brother, Neil. She never stopped giving. She looked forward to the visits from her sister, Doris, as they shared a special bond.
The lessons she taught; the flowers she so freely gave; her contagious smile; and her gratitude for the things she loved, such as her family, her beliefs, and the beauties of the earth, were the things that made her so unique. She will be missed.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Groot, of Rexburg, Idaho; a niece, Dianna (Kel) Rowland; and a nephew, Curtis (Jody) Howard, of St. Anthony, Idaho. At her request, there will be not be a funeral service. The family held a small private service on Friday, April 10. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.flammfh.com.
